Obituary

Joseph P. Mealey, 84, of Laguna Woods, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 2, 2012 after a courageous fight with cancer.

Joe was born August 19, 1927 to James and Lois Mealey in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Colton Union High School and served in the US Army and Merchant Marine and worked in banking, automotive and apartment management before retiring in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie of 57 years; his two sons, Dennis Mealey, wife Brenda, Robert Mealey (Bob), daughter Joanne Mealey Hatch, husband Rick; brothers, James Mealey and Michael Mealey (Mike); sister Mary Price (Paul); grandchildren Melissa Carter (Joseph), Michelle Mealey, Melanie Mealey and Patrick Mealey; great-grandchildren Makenzie and Presley Carter and his dog Dolly.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the California Lutheran Homes Auxiliary, Seaview Lutheran Plaza Chapter, 303 N. Glenoaks Blvd. #1000, Burbank, CA 91502.
