Joe and I knew each other since high school. His family lived next door to my aunt and uncle in Angleton, Tx. I lived in Arkansas and we visited my aunt during my senior year. Joe and I had a date while we were there and I promised him I’d come back for his graduation. He was stunned when I kept my promise. We married a few years later after we had gone on with our lives between graduation and a marriage for each of us. Even though our marriage didn’t last, we remained friends over the years. I am saddened at his passing. He was one in a million. His personality was just one of his best features. RIP, my precious friend. You are missed.
