Obituary

Jose Ramon Lopez, the third of eight children, was born on March 15, 1952 in Mascota, Mexico to Jose and Concha Lopez. After spending his first 13 years in Mascota, he and his family made the move to Dana Point, California. He attended San Clemente High School, graduating in 1971. He was both a wrestler and cross-country runner. His love of wrestling never waned, as he would later work on technique with his nephews Jason, Alex C., and Alex M. Throughout High School he worked at the ARCO station in San Juan Capistrano; it was there that he would meet a man who was so impressed with his mechanical capabilities that he told him to apply at Parker Hannifin once he reached the age of 18. He started work at Parker Hannifin on July 27, 1971 as an assembly technician in the Hydraulics division and would later move to the Control Systems divisions. He would retire in June 8, 2007 due to illness, but not before he had made many lifelong friends. Throughout his youth and into young adulthood he was an integral part of his family, especially in helping his parents with the purchase of their first home. He met his loving wife Irene through his persistent courtship of her: whether at her school, at her dance class, or at Church. They were married on September 2, 1978 at the Serra Chapel in Mission San Juan Capistrano and settled in El Toro and later San Juan Capistrano. Together Ramon and Irene had four children, and Ramon made sure they received a college education. They were happily married for over thirty years. Ramon was called home by the Lord on March 24, 2009, surrounded by family and friends at City of Hope after a 17 year battle with lymphoma. Ramon will be deeply missed by all of his family and his friends. But we will always find comfort in thinking of him because wherever Ramon went he always left an indelible mark with his wonderful personality, tireless work ethic, and deep love for all.  

José Ramón López, el tercero de ocho hijos, nació el 15 de marzo de 1952 en Mascota, México, hijo de José y Concha López.  Después de vivir 13 años en Mascota, Ô°l y su familia se mudaron a Dana Point, California.  En 1971 se graduó de la preparatoria de San Clemente. Participó en los equipos de lucha y atletismo.  Su amor para luchar nunca desapareció y después aconsejó a sus sobrinos Jason, Alex C. y Alex M. con la técnica.  Durante la preparatoria trabajó en la gasolinera ‘ARCO’ de San Juan Capistrano y fue ahí donde conoció a un hombre que impresionado por su habilidad por la mecánica le ofreció trabajar en Parker Hannifen cuando cumpliera 18 años. El 27 de Julio de 1971 comenzó a trabajar en Parker Hannifen como técnico ensamblador, después fue transferido a la división de sistemas de control.  Se jubiló el 8 de junio del 2007 debido a su enfermedad, pero no antes de haber hecho muchas amistades durante su vida.  A lo largo de su juventud y madurez fue un pilar para su familia; especialmente ayudando a sus padres con la compra de su casa.  Conoció a su futura esposa Irene en la iglesia, en la escuela y también en su clase de baile folklórico donde fueron compañeros de baile. Contrajeron matrimonio el 2 de septiembre de 1978 en la capilla Serra de la Mission en San Juan Capistrano.  Se establecieron en El Toro donde vivieron 15 años. Después se mudaron a San Juan Capistrano.  Juntos Ramón e Irene tuvieron cuatro hijos y se aseguraron que recibieran una educación universitaria.  Estuvieron felizmente casados por treinta años.  Ramón fue llamado por el Señor el 24 de marzo del 2009, rodeado por su familia y amigos en el Hospital de City of Hope después de haber luchado durante 17 años contra el cáncer.  Ramón será extrañado profundamente por toda su familia y amigos.  Siempre encontraremos paz pensando en Ô°l, porque a donde sea q él fuere siempre dejó una huella inolvidable con su maravillosa personalidad, incansable ética de trabajo y su profundo amor para todos.
