  1. Jerome and I share in the sadness in your dad’s passing and the joy in knowing that your relationship grew in love and appreciation for each other over the last years. Thank you for giving us the privilege of knowing him through you.

  2. I had the pleasure of knowing John for only a few brief years. Yet I knew him as a delightful, witty, articulate, bright, and kind man…and an irrepressible flirt! I will always smile remembering him. He will be sorely missed.

  3. We are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.
    Love you
    Elly, Leon and Sofia

  4. Our heart and prayers go out to all the Austin family in this time of loss. Please know that John was loved by so many in our community. Your grief is shared by his “extended” family.

John was in many ways the spirit of our little community here in University Park. He gave so generously to all of us who knew him. Our only consolation is that he is now with his beloved wife, Alla. May he rest in peace.

  5. My deapest sympathy goes out to the whole family. Although I never met John, I felt that I knew him through Joanne’s thoughts. God be with you all. All of my love Joanne.
