John Santell, Jr., 86, of Dana Point died Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was born in Utica, N.Y. where he lived until joining the US Navy. He graduated from the University of Miami in Fla. where he met Carol, his bride-to-be. His interest in history and government led to his life-long involvement in politics. As an executive of an engineering firm he went to Cuba on a California trade mission. John and Carol traveled extensively throughout his life, even living in Paris for a time where he cooked and she painted. He worked in the insurance industry for the past 30 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol Santell; his daughter Kim Santell and many nieces, nephews and friends. His memorial service will be Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 A.M. at the O'Connor Mortuary Laguna Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
