We’ve missed John and Jeannette since they moved to California, and now we’ll miss John forever. But we will always laugh about how he would chase the geese off the lawn and back into the canal his various attempts to drive them off reminded me of the Roadrunner cartoon!. I’ll remember how he helped me fix my Dad’s car, and when we worked on his boat and tried to sell it on eBay; we’ll think of how he loved showing off his kites, telling stories of growing up in Brooklyn and about the railroad; and we’ll always remember what a good sport and kind, loving neighbor he was. The hole we all feel in our hearts will one day be filled with all the fond memories of John.

    Love Kathy and Will

  4. I remember when you and Jeannette were coming down here for the first time…..it was on your way back from South Carolina after you had met Timmy’s beautiful bride to be. I was so anxious because I had not had the privilege of meeting you in person, we had only talked on the phone. You got out of your car and I immediately heard the voice of a New Yorker! Such a grin on your face and you carried with you your pillows and kites! I felt like I had known you forever! I know how much you love Jeannette. We were sharing our first meal together and she had a “smudge” on her face and you lovingly turned to her and wiped it off!….It was such a good weekend. And you were such a hearty eater. I could have stood in the kitchen for hours cooking for you. Fly your kites for you are in a better place. We all will do our best to take care of your beloved Jeannette.
    With love, Susan
