  1. I remember well when Izzy told me about meeting John, he delivered the mail to where Isabel was woking, the City of Glendale.
Their friendship grew to where John took Izzy on her first date to a nice restaurant for dinner. She was so surprised and happy to find out John did’nt like Mayo either!! Family members can appreciate this!

When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. We have many of John, and soon we will all be reunited once again!

  2. Hello Cabell Family,

We are praying for you daily while you go through this difficult time. It brings us great joy to hear that your father is now re-united with your mother in Heaven for eternity! We would like to share one of our favorite passages with you that we discussed with my father, just 3 days before the Lord took him home.

John, chapter 14, verses 1-6 New King James Version

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I hope you find much comfort and peace in the promises of God.

After hearing of Uncle John’s passing my first thoughts were being thankful that his leg was now better and that he was reunited with his wife Isabel. My thoughts turn to my cousins Dale and Doug and their families and sending them prayers for comfort during their time of mourning. Uncle John was always warm, approachable and caring. He always had time for you at our many family events and he will be greatly missed by myself and many others whose lives he touched.

  4. This is such a tender time to lose ones we love. Please know that you are all in our hearts and prayers during Christmas time and the months to come. My earliest memories of Uncle John were of him passing me life savers to keep me “decent and in order” at the meeting when I was a tiny kid. I think he was new on the scene and he made a good impression on me! The family will not be the same without him.
God bless you with His peace and comfort,
with love from all the Shaffer family
