IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Joseph
Brandlin Jr.
November 22, 1944 – October 18, 2025
John Brandlin, Jr., born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the first child of Mary Cecile Mc Laughlin and John Joseph Brandlin, passed away peacefully of Alzheimer's on October 18, 2025.
John attended the University of Arizona, where he completed a bachelor's degree in history. He went on to attend law school at Southwestern School of Law and began his career in his father's Los Angeles law firm. John moved to Orange County, California, where he practiced law for more than 40 years.
John married Laura Lee Wells in 1991. Together, Laura and John enjoyed travel and being at numerous family events over the years. John attended many sports and school events for Laura's sons, Matthew and Ryan Wells, as they grew up.
As the oldest of eight children, John developed an interest in photography at a relatively young age and became the unofficial family photographer at numerous holiday and birthday celebrations. John could always be counted upon to carry in a heavy camera bag full of lenses, filters and flash attachments needed to get great photos.
John is survived by his wife, Laura, his stepchildren Matthew (Jessica) Wells, Ryan Wells and his grandchildren, Sawyer and Desiree Wells.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Kathryn (Dan) Shearer, Jeffery (Karen) Brandlin, Steven (Kathy) Brandlin, Carol (Bob) Roadenbaugh, Barbara (Pat) Hines, Margaret (Brian) English and Susan (Jay) Marks, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 9 Hillgate in Irvine on Wednesday, November 5 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John's honor to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at www.seasirvine.org.
