JoAnn Lorbiecki died peacefully in her Mission Viejo home Saturday morning after a brave battle with cancer. She was 67.

JoAnn was born on May 5, 1949 to Mary and Edward Donnelly in Chicago, Illinois. After finishing her nursing degree, JoAnn left the cold Chicago winters behind her and headed west for California. She settled in Orange County, where she spent the rest of her life.

JoAnn practiced as a nurse practitioner for four decades in South Orange County, while also being an active participant in school field trips and soccer tournaments.

JoAnn is remembered by family and friends as always being the life of the party. She loved to dance and loved a good jazz concert. A devoted pet owner, JoAnn did volunteer for the local bichon rescue center.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jason. A memorial will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Saddleback Church, where she was an active member.
