Obituary

Joan Patricia Caulfield was born on April 27, 1950; she was raised in Rahway, New Jersey by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth along with 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She attended St Mary’s grammar school and Rahway High School. She graduated from Union County Tech in 1974 and began her career as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She practiced in New Jersey and California and worked with many well-known dentists. Joan retired from practicing dental hygiene in 2014 after 40 years; she took a strong interest in her patient’s and great pride in her profession.

Joan enjoyed living in the Balboa/Newport area, taking sailing lessons and joining the yacht club. Joan was a strong passionate and gifted woman. She enjoyed her large family and didn’t miss a chance to celebrate with them. Joan was a beloved sister and aunt. We loved her and will miss that Irish wit.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hands

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday March 18th at 10:00 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church Newport Beach, CA.

Although Bill & I did not know Joan that well, we heard great praise for her professionalism, humor, and love of her family. She will be sorely missed but , never, ever forgotten.
    Rest in peace, Joan

  3. Dear Joan,
We will miss your calls and visits to be with us here in New Jersey.
Last year on your visit you enjoyed some jersey pizza and our fried
Flounder dinner,we did not get you to enjoy some white castles as
you had wished; perhaps there’s a dive thru up there for you and
    June to go too.
May God hold in the hollow of his hands, till we all meet again.
    Love you always,
    Don and Linda
