Joan Margaret Miller 1929-2010

Our dear wife and mother, Joan Margaret Miller, 81, of Irvine, California, passed away on June 11, 2010.

Joan was born Joan Margaret Flynn in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 7, 1929. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School and attended the University of Minnesota. She married James Miller on November 2, 1956.

While raising their children, Joan also worked in the banking field for many years. Her caring ways were expressed daily with those she would meet, making sure all were doing well. She was not only mother and grandmother to her own, but to neighborhood friends and their children as well. Joan will be fondly remembered for her smile, quiet strength, kindness, selflessness and love. She truly was the most loving mother, giving wife and supportive sister and friend.

Joan is survived by her husband, James; her sister, Sharon; three children, Eric, Jim and Barbara; their spouses, Jody, Karen and Marc; and seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Brett, Nicole, Christian, Tara, Kyle and Brooke.

A Visitation is scheduled at O’Connor Funeral Home, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA; 949 581-4300, on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 7-8:00 p.m. A service will be held in the Chapel at O’Connor Funeral Home on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10 a.m., with burial services to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, CA. Friends and family are then invited back to the Miller home in Irvine for a reception to celebrate Joan’s life. Please bring your memories and loving thoughts as we cherish and remember our mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend.
