THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC OF MY LIFE

? ?NEW YORK, N.Y.? ~ Born of immigrant Jewish parents from Czechoslovakia mother, Irene and Hungary father, Sandor/Alex in N.Y., N.Y.

? CALIFORNIA HERE I COME? 1951 ~ Moved to Los Angeles. Attended John Burroughs Jr. High and Fairfax H.S. Parents divorced

? MACHO MAN? 1958 ~ Enlisted in the Marines, and was retired after a knee injury

? ?TEACH ME TONIGHT? ~ Earned secondary teaching credential at LACC then taught at a boys military school. Taught Health & Safety and First Aid classes at Pierce College 1962. Assistant football coach at LACC. Taught wrestling.

? ?GETTING TO KNOW YOU? Thanksgiving, 1965 Met Caryn on skiing holiday in Mammoth. On ski patrol in Running Springs.

? ?TRUE LOVE? Oct. 1, 1966 ~ Married in St. Barbara at Miramar Hotel on the oceanfront. After a week of rain we had a clear day for the ceremony??ON A CLEAR DAY? ?lived in Monterey Park. Taught History and Government classes and coaching wrestling team at Arroyo H.S.

? ‘sMALL WORLD? ~ David Alexander born May 1968. Robb Russell born December 1969.

? ?ON THE ROAD AGAIN? ~ Moved to Arcadia. Became salesman for Family Life Insurance Co. full-time. Became a District Sales Manager. 1970 Went into commercial furnishings and sales business with partner. CA Business Interiors.

? ?WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS? ~ Coached AYSO soccer and started first club soccer team in Arcadia. Took a boys age 11 team The Stallions to Sweden, Denmark and England for a cultural sports exchange in 1979 and 1981. Won AYSO State Championship for 10 year old boys.

? ?MOVIN’ ON DOWN THE LINE? ~ 1982 Sole-owner of CBI’sold company and went to work for American City Mortgage Co. Went from sales to trainer to manager.

? ?ON THE ROAD AGAIN? ~Moved to San Dimas in 1986. Bought a powerboat, then moved to Huntington Harbor. 1992 Traded boat for golf cart.

? ?HOME SWEEET? Moved to Coto de Caza and joined MVCC in 1995. Worked for Irwin Mortgage Co. in conjunction with government financing for emergency services of the City of Los Angeles. Gave seminars for recruits and graduates of the Police Dept, and became a Specialist Reserve Police Officer.

The family would appreciate any donations in Jim’s name to be given to a children’s charity.

HOBBIES: Skiing, tennis, golf, boating, traveling
