Obituary

Jerry Paul Jenkins, 53, has gone home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2016. He was born in Oklahoma, the second son of Paul and Linda Jenkins. He attended Oklahoma State University where he received his BS in Engineering Technology.

He married Viviana Jenkins in November 2000, and lived in San Clemente, CA for 11 years.

Jerry was employed by Consolidated Contracting Services, Inc. since 2000, where he held the positions of Chief Estimator and Director of Operations.

He was a member of Pacific Coast Church, where he developed a mentoring ministry with the Union Rescue Mission called “Iron Man”. This is a men’s conference and mentoring ministry that has seen over 50 mentoring friendships that God has used to literally change lives.

Jerry had a heart for those experiencing homelessness on Skid Row. He not only helped develop the Iron Man ministry but he was also a founding board member for Deed & Truth, a ministry that began just this past year to expand help to those experiencing homelessness at the Union Rescue Mission. He gave of his time and his resources. He especially wanted to help the men who graduate from the discipleship program to help provide a better transition when they need to leave the mission and re-enter society.

With this in mind, we have established the Iron Man Scholarship Fund in memory of Jerry Jenkins. This fund will provide financial support for mission graduates when it’s their time to transition out of the mission and back into society.

Jerry leaves his beloved wife Viviana; his parents Paul and Linda Jenkins; his aunts and uncles, Jim and Judy Schifiliti, Fred and Elvira Mathewson, Dan and Lucy Kramer, Andres and Gladys Salazar, and Judy Ryan; his in-laws, David and Veronica Goldstein; his nephew, Matthew Goldstein; his cousins, Magen Shifiliti, Nick and Maria San Filipo, and Andres Salazar.

The memorial service will be held at Pacific Coast Church, 2651 Calle Frontera, San Clemente, CA 92673, on August 20, 2016, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Iron Man Scholarship Fund at www.deedandtruth.org or mail checks to Deed & Truth, c/o OneOC, 1901 E. 4th Street, Suite 100, Santa Ana, CA 92705.

  1. Linda and Paul,

My memories are long ago. Where families gathered at the lake to have a laugh and enjoy life. Or we were canoeing down the Illinoi River. I always admired and loved your family. My heart hurts but rejoices.

    God Speed!
