I waited till I had one year sober before I dated. My first date was with Jeff Roach & we became boyfriend & girlfriend. We found out that we had met years before & mutual friends tried to set us up at Speedway in Costa Mesa. Back then I would not go out with him as he was drunk & had quite a foul mouth. Funny how things work out.
Later Jeff got transferred to Paso Robles & we tried to keep the relationship going. I drove out there to surprise him one weekend & realized just how far away Paso Robles was. The last memory I have was when he took me to a military function in San Diego. It was the second one I had been to with Jeff, the first being a ball held in Balboa. While in San Diego I had a feeling he had something going with a female there in the military. I ended up being correct and found out Jeff was cheating on me. I was devastated & was in disbelief that anyone working a spiritual program could be dishonest & a cheater. It took me awhile to get over it. Jeff used to talk to me about becoming a military wife & what my life would be like.
But Jeff married the woman he was cheating on me with instead.
I was shocked to say the least to learn by pure accident that Jeff had passed away. Jeff was 3 years younger than I & I just cannot believe he has passed on.
My condolences to his family including his extended mitary family.

OMyGoodness! Just when you think you’ve seen it all,..SO unkind to use this forum to expose your bitterness,.let it go Jane Doe! Jeff wasn’t perfect, but he would be the first to say so. It was a huge part of his testimony!
