Jeffrey William Guffey, 58, of Laguna Niguel, CA, beloved son to Shirley Guffey and the late William Guffey, passed away unexpectedly at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born on July 4, 1958 in Champaign, IL.

Jeff grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and attended Marina High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Long Beach State. Jeff always knew teaching was his true calling, so he attended UC Irvine for his teaching credentials.

Jeff’s distinguished teaching career lasted 30 years in Capo Valley School District, primarily with his beloved elementary school students.

Jeff is survived by his brother Brett; sister Dee Ann Guffey-Lane; and his 5 nieces and nephews, Sean, Rachel, Ryan, Erica, and Jackson.

Memorial to be held Friday, May 5th at 5:00 pm at Chaparral Elementary School in Ladera Ranch. A scholarship fund will be set up in Jeff’s to the schools in which he taught.
