Krembas
April 15, 1939 – November 21, 2015
Jeanette M. Krembas 4/15/39 – 11/21/15
Jeanette was born in Niagara Falls on 4/15/1939 to Edward and Rose Maturani. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on the morning of 11/21/15. Jeanette is survived by her son [Ben Pasco]; daughter-in-law [Dora Pasco], granddaughter [Jessica Pasco] and sisters [Carol DiRamio, Betty Scrivano]. Jeanette grew up in Niagara Falls, NY and relocated to Southern California in 1967, where she began her real estate career with Coldwell Banker in Torrance, CA. In 1978 Jeanette moved to the quiet little community of Laguna Niguel with her husband Dr. James F. Krembas. For the next 30 years Jeanette would be a successful residential/commercial real estate broker in the Southern California area.
Jeanette’s real passion was her involvement in civic/state government for the last 25 years. Jeanette’s tireless work on community issues such as the El Toro airport, helping Laguna Niguel obtain cityhood, and being an instrumental part in many of Laguna Niguel’s first civic organizations made her a key contributor in the early development of Laguna Niguel and south Orange County. Some of Jeanette’s civic accomplishments include: served as field representative for Calif. state assembly & state senate member Pat Bates, board of directors and past president of Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce, board of directors/treasurer founding member of Laguna Niguel Historical Society, board of directors Orange Coast Watershed and Environmental Center, former bod/treasurer of California Women’s Leadership Association, appointee to Orange County Assessment Appeals Board for 12 years, received honor as “Citizen of the Year” from Laguna Niguel, 20-year Rotary Club member/scholarship committee chairman 4 years, Laguna Niguel Traffic & Safety Commission for 6 years, O.C. Association of Realtors gov’t affairs political action committee.
Jeanette was an active parishioner of St. Edwards and Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano churches and enjoyed her Fridays with her close church friends. Jeanette was a four-time cancer survivor over the last 20 years and fought the disease the way she lived her life with a quiet dignity, grace and tenacity that will be remembered long after she is gone.
A true OC Grama, we will never forget how you always thought of us first. Mom you will be missed, but never forgotten.
