Jean Fitzpatrick, quick to share a few lines of song, a dance step and a bright smile, died Sept. 26, 2007, from cancer. She was 81.

Born Sept. 30, 1925, she grew up in Missouri and Texas. She married Donald Jack Fitzpatrick in 1943 and they moved to California where they lived in Los Angeles, Pico Rivera and La Habra before retiring to Skyline Ranch in Valley Center. Mr. Fitzpatrick died in 1988.

She is survived by daughters, Teri Allen Rich of Rancho Santa Margarita and Mary Costello Buzz of Mission Viejo; sons, David Val of Coto de Caza, Kelly of Clearlake and Scott Maya Blackmun of Portland, Ore.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 4, at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy., Laguna Hills. She will be remembered as part of the 9 a.m. Fri., Oct. 5, Mass at St. Killian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Drive, MissionViejo. Private interment.
