Obituary

Janet Robbins will be remembered as a kind, generous, and gracious woman whose life was centered on family, faith, and community.

Janet began her career as a teacher in Denver, Colorado, where she developed a lifelong love of skiing. She married Lee Robbins, and following his death in 1968, devoted herself to raising their three children. The family moved to California in 1969, where Janet created a full and meaningful life for her family.

She was the devoted mother of John (Katy) Robbins, Maureen (Michael) Ybarra, and Tom Robbins. She was a loving grandmother to David (Alissa), Ashley (Garrett), Matthew (Danielle), Monica, Megan, Marc (fiancée Grace), Alyson, and Emily, and a cherished great-grandmother to Everlee, Caden, Tucker, Levi, Mia, and Lucy. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and their families.

Janet continued skiing in Vail each winter, often meeting there with her sisters, Jean, her twin; Sister Maureen, S.L.; and Mary Beth (George). She also treasured Vail’s summer concert series, returning year after year to enjoy the music and reconnect with a community of dear friends.

Tennis was another important part of Janet’s life. She enjoyed both playing and watching the sport and formed lasting friendships through tennis in her neighborhood. Her regular neighborhood walks also brought her great pleasure and created many warm connections with those she met along the way.

A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church since moving to Irvine in 1969, Janet’s faith and generosity remained important throughout her life.

Memorial donations may be made to the parish’s St. Vincent de Paul Council, which assists local families with food, rent, and utility expenses, or to the parish’s Santa Ana Kitchen meal ministry.
