Obituary

Jan Blankenship, 74, passed away on August 14, 2019. She was the wife of Donald Lee Blankenship. They shared 53 years of marriage together.

Born in Los Angeles, she was the daughter of Vergenes Rogers and Pearl Marie Martin. She attended St. Anthony’s Catholic High School and Marymount University. She worked as a bookkeeper at a law firm for many years.

She was a member of Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest, California. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling the world, and playing games. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Blankenship, and her children, Kari Plush, Stacy Persek, and Donnie Blankenship, and her four grandchildren, Julia, Madalyn, Mason, and Lily.

The funeral service will be held on August 24, 2019, at Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest at 10:00am.

A memorial donation may be made in lieu of flowers to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org) to support her granddaughter, Madalyn Plush, who has Type 1 Diabetes.

  3. Jan, it has been 58 years since I first met you on a double date. You were sweet and cute then and you never changed. You will be missed for many years. Your smile at the SA Golf Event was always so welcoming. I hope my Larry helped welcome you when you arrived in heaven.
