Obituary

James (Jim) Henry Weber, originally of Sanger, California, passed away peacefully in his home on September 6, 2025. He was 75 years old.

James was born on June 30, 1950 in Sanger, California to Alma (Schiebelhut) and Jacob (Jack) Weber. He grew up on his family's vineyard with his two sisters, Janie and Jacque, and had a loving and fun childhood filled with fishing, hunting and music.

He graduated from Sanger High after traveling to Austria his senior year to perform across the country with the boys choir. He then attended Fresno State University where he earned a degree in Marine Biology! Fortunately (since there was a scarcity of marine biology jobs) his brother-in-law, Henry Arabian, interceded and helped him get a job with Fredericks Development Corporation building apartments and homes in California and Colorado. He learned the trade of building from the ground up. He developed his own company called Weber Pacific and partnered with Nicholson Companies to build custom, luxury homes in Kahala, Honolulu, Corona del Mar, and the Strand in Dana Point.

Jim loved fishing, boating and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teress, whom he married in 1981. Jim often loved telling the story of how he met Teress at a swimming pool in Hemet, California. She was wearing a purple swimsuit and that is why his favorite color was purple. In their 44 years of marriage they spent time traveling, going to concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, attending church, going out to dinner and going on their daily morning walks. Some of his happiest times were spent on his boat on June Lake or Lake Cachuma and the ocean on his boat the Rocinante . He loved boating to Catalina Island or along the Coast of California to Newport Beach.

Jim also loved birdwatching, reading the morning paper, doing word puzzles and sudoku, whistling and singing. He was an avid joke teller and had mastered the art of the dad joke by the time of his passing.

Jim is survived by his two children, James Weber (Afsheen) and Katherine Cortina (Matt) and his four grandchildren, Rocco, Rose, Alma and Jacob. He is also survived by his sister, Jacque Arabian and his many beloved nieces and nephews.
