Obituary

James Wilbur Tressler passed peacefully into eternal life on March 18, 2023, three weeks shy of his 100 th birthday. He was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, who deeply valued his Catholic faith and was a WWII Air Force veteran serving as Maintenance Chief for C47 transport planes in the Pacific arena. He was born April 9 th 1923 in Pennsylvania to his parents Burton and Anna Rebecca, living through the Great Depression with his siblings, Marie, Lester, Genevie, Paul, Hobart, Virginia and Betty.

While on leave during WWII he met and later married the love of his life Mary, who proceeded him in death as they shared over 70 years of life together, raising their four boys and later being active in the lives of their grandchildren. Moving to Orange County in 1963 to enjoy a new employment opportunity, he and Mary became involved in numerous Catholic parishes sharing their time, treasure and talents.

James was a machinist by trade, loved music and known to be a hardworking and simple man who enjoyed being with his family and friends and was always available to be of help to those in need. He had the gift of being able to fix just about everything and tried to pass this along to his sons with some success.

His grandchildren, Nicole (Zack) Jukam, Alisha, Brian, Brandon & Drew (Kimberley) and great grandchildren, Haley, Barrett and Dillion.
