Obituary

Jim Wood was born on October 27th, 1933 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jim was at home surrounded by the love of his family, in the days preceding his passing, on January 27, 2018. Jim enjoyed each of his 84 years and lived them to the fullest.

Jim was married to the one and only love of his life, Jody (Eckroth) Wood for 66 years. Together they had 3 children, Linda, Karen and Patty. Their family also includes son-in-laws Al Stearns, Vince Caiozzo, and Rick Konrad; 4 Grandchildren: Jenny, Amber, Katie and John; Great-Grandchildren: Elijah, Noelle, Julia, Gianna, and Dominic; Sister: Jo Logan and many well-loved nieces and nephews.

Jim enjoyed a long and successful career in the food and vending machine business.  Jim was a people-person; he had an engaging personality, a great sense of humor, and quickly made friends. Usually these friends became lifelong friends. Jim had a way of recognizing each person’s special qualities and bringing out the best in that person. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will always be in our hearts and memories.

  1. Father’s Day, June 17th, 2018

After hugging the pillow package while the catamaran hugged the waves, Mom released Dad’s ashes.
We were about 5 miles off of the coast of DanaPoint, California when she let them drop into the sea.
Five Bird of Paradise and hundreds of rose petals spread out, as the pillow sank.

The family revealed an inner smile of peace, a calm relief.

Then God graced us all with close to one hundred dolphin gliding around and underneath the boat.
Karen said that Dad had it arranged. Thank you, Dad, for that and oh, so very much more!

    Love always, and forever,
    Linda
