Jim Causky unexpectedly passed away on March 29, 2019 at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Caroline, and daughters Kelly and Allison. He is also survived by his sister Debi, and many other loved ones, including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, a nephew, and lifelong friends.

Jim was born on August 4, 1959 in Lakewood, California. He grew up in Rossmoor with friends he had for over 50 years. He excelled in sports, particularly baseball. He played as a boy, at Los Alamitos High School, and through college at Pepperdine University. He enjoyed success for over 30 years in aerospace sales, most recently self-employed with his wife at CauskyRandall Sales, Inc.

Jim made many, many friends all along the way.

But Jim was certainly not all work. He coached his daughters in softball, golfed, watched sports and horses, dined with friends and family, and vacationed. He proudly watched his daughters graduate from high school and from college. He supported them in all of their pursuits -playing softball, riding horses, travelling the globe, finding jobs, and everything else -and beamed when sharing their accomplishments.

Once empty nesters, Jim and Caroline sold their home in Mission Viejo and moved to Dana Point near the beach. Together they have enjoyed the ocean view, travelling, horses, and spending time with loved ones. Just recently they visited the Virgin Islands, Miami, Las Vegas, Canada, Kentucky, Bermuda, Del Mar, New Hampshire, Costa Rica, New York, Alaska, and Lake Tahoe.

Many, many loved ones mourn that Jim Causky left us too soon.

I am still having a hard time accepting this. Jim was special. He made you feel as if he was lucky to know you, but the truth is we were all very lucky to know him.
Our condolences to his family. He always spoke with so much pride and affection for all of you.
    Jim will be missed.

  2. Hey Pappy,
For the past 42 years we have loved each other like brothers and you have always been my best friend.
My life changed when I met you. I was a 16 year old, somewhat awkward, sophomore at Los Al when
you approached me and asked me to introduce you to “LS”. Although that relationship never really
panned out, ours will last forever. My life also changed on March 29 th .
When we spoke last month, I told you I was coming out to see you before my family fly to Jamaica in
May, but this is NOT what I meant.
There are hundreds of people here celebrating your life as you meant so much to so many others. I
wouldn’t know any of them if it wasn’t for you. You are the most special person I have ever met.
    I will never forget:
When we left school to take your Dad’s Lamborghini, on your Mom’s bowling day, to Hamburger Hamlet
    for lunch.
When you took me to the driving range for the first time and taught me how to golf yet I could never
    beat you.
When I drank my first beer, when you, me, Steve Paterson and Tom Beckerle went to the ZZ Top
When you took me to my first X-Rated movie on my 18 th birthday.
When George and Debi raided your parents’ home on Foster Road the first day after they left for West
All of the Vegas trips, including my first time (neither of us were 21 yet) when I eventually got kicked out
of every Casino trying to use Bobby Nabor’s Driver’s License for ID (of course your fake ID worked
All of the trips to the track including at Los Alamitos when you “booked” Beck’s bet on “On The Road
    Again” at 80-1.
All of the “Triple Crown” trips with Dana Saraceno and Brad Cole when we would hit either Hollywood or
Santa Anita (which ever was open), then to Los Alamitos, then to Gardena for some poker and then
finally to that liquor store by LAX for some “Blue Label” to get us back to our apartment in The Malibu
    Bay Club.
How you always “joked” that you were the sun and we were the planets orbiting around you. But that
    was the truth!
You sent me a picture from your 21 st birthday and Peter Pilling, Greg Drake, Kevin Mead, Jimmy
Chapman, Jeff Kaub, me, Bobby Nabor, Beck and Jeff Bloom are all “orbiting” around you and there you
are smack in the middle beaming like the “sun”.

You were always in the middle of EVERYTHING!
The three years we lived together at Pepperdine and then graduated together. My parents gave us both
$ 500 for a Vegas trip and your parents gave $ 1,000 and you a brand new red Camaro so we could get
    there “in style”.
Then your Dad sold me “The Cat” for $ 1,000 and I threw in a case of Andre Champagne as a tip.
That your parents and George & Debi adopted me as one of their own, and my parents did the same
    with you.
The long summer job you got us living on and working on George and Debi’s boat “Moon Dance”. I’m
sure they will never forget that either. Thank God I had the fire extinguisher handy for the fire you
started on the stove that George told us to never to use!
The long summer job I got us living in and painting my parents’ house. I’m sure my parents will never
    forget that either.
You were the only one who believed in me, after I told everyone how I became friends with Steven
Tyler of Aerosmith and that we could actually get backstage for their Concert without even having a
ticket. We were not only backstage we were ON the stage!
When you called in sick on your first day of work Santa Fe Equipment and then we went to the Pomona
Fair Meet instead. Beck, who got you the job, found out the next day
When you were my best man and flew to New York with Beck, Lat Man and The Colonel for Zelka’s and
    my wedding.
When you asked me to be part of your wedding with Carolyn.
When you were able to not only attend my Dad’s funeral at Rose Hills, but also make first post at Santa
Anita. Just like when you and I were able to attend George’s Mom’s funeral and make first post at Del
Mar and get bets in for your Mom and Debi.
The fact that even though I live in New Jersey, we always kept in close contact.
Please say hi to your Mom and Dad and Joey and Big and Helen up there.
I am sure you have found all the hot spots up there and please keep a seat for me when God punches
    my ticket.
I love you with all my heart and always will.
    Steve Constuble

  3. We have been blessed to have known Jim for over 25
years, watching our kids grow up together and
    experiencing so many incredible memories.
Jim was the type of person that always made you feel
special, in so many ways. He had the ability to connect
with people whether they knew him for 20 years or 20
minutes, always asking question about your family,
work or just how you were doing. When he spoke about
himself, it was always about his girls,.Caroline, Kelly
and Ally. He was so proud of his daughters and deeply
in love with Caroline. He would always say “I’m the
    luckiest man on the earth”
What we loved so much about Jim was his love of life.
We can’t remember him being anything but happy. His
smile would brighten up a room and everyone around
him. He was also one of the most generous people we
ever met. Always wanting to give of himself no matter
    what the occasion.
Our incredible memories of a truly wonderful husband,
father and friend will be with us forever and we’re so
fortunate that he touched our lives for as long as he did.
Jim, we love you, we’ll deeply miss you and you will
    always be in our hearts.
Patrick, Rene’, Sean and Rachael Reilly

  5. Jim,

    You will be missed!
I will always remember you for being positive, upbeat and passionate while coaching with and against you.
Enjoyed the time hanging with you and the guys on the golf course. And as time goes by and things pull you in all directions I hadn’t talked with you in awhile, but I had been thinking about reconnecting. So sorry I didn’t reach out sooner.
