Obituary

James Joe Morton, 52, died peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Jimmy Joe was born January 6, 1963 in Quincy, Washington to Bill and Juanita Morton, baby brother to sisters Kelly Dee, Jacky Lee, Lindy Lou, Robby Sue, and Tracy Ann. He had a wonderful childhood, raised in Wanapum Village and attended Kindergarten – 12th in Royal City (a “lifer”), graduating in 1981 at the top of a class of 42. Jim then went on to Washington State University, where he met fellow “Coug” Corene Christensen in 1983, graduating in 1987 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Jim’s life in Pullman was filled with fabulous friends and new experiences.

After a life spent in Washington, Jim moved to California where Corene had found a job and they married on June 2, 1991. Their son Mason was born in 1997 and daughter Edyson followed in 2000; they are his proudest accomplishments and biggest treasures. Jim loved watching the kids’ football and soccer games; he also enjoyed family vacations across America. The Morton family has lived in a small neighborhood of wonderful friends in Rancho Santa Margarita since 1999; many precious memories and bonds were made in the “Hood”.

Jim worked for several years at M-Flex in Anaheim where he met many great friends and learned all there is to know about flexible circuit boards. He then worked at Samina in Costa Mesa, again working with several wonderful people. Besides his family and friends, Jim loved biking, hiking and music..his iTunes collection is insane..over 3700 songs (OK some are Edy’s).

Jim is survived by his wife Corene, children Mason and Edyson, and sisters Kelly, Lindy, Robby and Tracy.
