IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Morgan
"Jim" Poe
September 4, 1945 – January 27, 2024
In loving memory of Jim Poe, 78, who passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in his Lake Forest, California home. Jim’s departure was sudden and unexpected, a solemn reminder of life’s unpredictability. Despite a history of heart problems, he demonstrated remarkable strength and remained active until his final moments.
Jim shared his home with his beloved wife, Charlotte, and his cherished mother-in-law, Anna. Following his retirement, Jim dedicated his years to a joyful and fulfilling life centered around his unwavering faith, family, friends, and community. As a parishioner at Santiago de Compostela, he found solace in attending mass and daily prayer.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jim’s greatest joy came from encouraging and supporting his loved ones. Ever mindful of his children’s well-being, he dedicated a significant amount of his time to assist Travis and Juliette with any needs they had. Jim also had a special bond with his granddaughters, taking them to the park, helping with homework, and enthusiastically attending their various events, from sports to recitals and holiday performances.
His selflessness extended to friends and anyone in need; he was always ready to lend a helping hand. While family remained his priority, Jim generously devoted his time to the local food bank, exemplifying his commitment to community service. Jim held managerial and executive positions in well-known grocery stores, such as Crawfords, Market Basket, Vons, Pavilions, and BevMo. In these roles, he earned the respect of countless employees, leading them with a combination of kindness, fairness, and a steadfast work ethic.
Jim’s untimely departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. His kindness, warmth, and generosity will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Charlotte; his children Travis, Juliette, Cindy, and Tracy; his mother-in-law, Anna; his son-in-law Cesar; his adored granddaughters, Karina and Kyanna; and his siblings Leona and Jerry. May Jim’s spirit live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
