Obituary

James J. Jefferies of Lake Forest, CA went home to be with the Lord on September 26th. Jim was born on September 29, 1924 in Newport, PA. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. He also served his country as an FBI agent from 1950-55. He was a respected businessman, owning and operating a furniture business in Orange County for most of his professional career.

Jim was an active and committed lay leader in the church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder and various other roles. He authored two books during his retirement years and was a member of Gideons International.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gerry. He is also survived by 2 children, Don Jefferies of Aliso Viejo and Mary Ellen Brown of Sonora, CA, 5 grandsons, a brother Robert Jefferies of Tucson, AZ, a sister Joyce Hefflefinger of Decatur, IL. A sister, Vivian Henly, of Lancaster County, PA, preceded him in death.

Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of honor and integrity and was loved by those who knew him. We will miss him.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Mission Hills Church, 24162 Alicia Pkwy, Mission Viejo, CA, on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gideons International.

    May the Lord give you the comfort and strength at this time as you lost your husband and father. We rejoice that Jim is now with His Lord and Savior and that we all will be together again some day.
