James Henry McKane, age 69 of Downers Grove, Illinois and residing in Lake Forest, California went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 7:23 AM while riding his bike; one of the things he loved to do. Jim was the loving husband of Marlene Willis McKane for 27 years. He is survived by his loving children Jessica McKane, (Benjamin Schmidt), Ryan McKane, Sean McKane (Danielle), Dawn Smith (Richard). Along with his precious grandchildren Jackson Schmidt, Declan Schmidt, Evan McKane, Haylee McKane, Ryan Smith, Kyle Smith (Lauren), Jacob Smith, and Jim's brother Bill McKane.

Jim, as an entrepreneur, spent over 40 years working in the steel business making friends and colleagues all over the world; not only selling steel but sharing the gospel of his Lord Jesus Christ along the way. Jim aka Papa Jim was a man of integrity with a heart full of love and devotion for his God, Family and Others.

His God – There never was anyone he met that he did not like and did not show to them the love of Jesus. Jim's' goal was always to enter into someone's life and give them the tools to make it better.

His Family – His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife. He shared recently "I have never loved her more" Spending time with his children and his 7 grandchildren and being PAPA JIM delighted him and brought joy to the depth of his being.

Others – Jim loved his Kiddles And his beloved Chicago Cubs, working with and around boats, riding his bike and he found great joy in mentoring and serving others. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved to make people laugh with his dry wit and oftimes he cracked himself up in the privacy of his own car.
