  1. Dear Matossian Family- Our family offers prayers and condolences. I have often thought of Jimmy over the last couple weeks, remembering his smile as he interacted with Tom at the draft. We am so sorry for your loss. God Bless your family in these tough times.

  2. Gerome says:

While it was with great sadness, shock and disbelief that I heard about Jimmy’s passing, he will always be remembered with fondness. Having the privilege and absolute pleasure to share and be a part of each other’s lives during the last year he was able to play soccer, I witnessed the lasting impression and impact he made on everyone he met with his personality, always smiling and can-do attitude regardless of the situation and circumstances. His desire to learn, help and share with others made for many interesting conversations , which often times came with a surprise, or two, like the time last year when he called me out of the blue, and very excitedly said “Hey coach, it’s Jimmy. I graduated and I am working at the library at the moment where one of my co-workers speaks Afrikaans (one of the local languages spoken in South Africa). I loved how it sounds and asked her to teach it to me. I know it’s your native language and you speak it well and wanted to know if we can meet for lunch so you can help me practice and learn it by spending time and speaking with me in Afrikaans,” Completely surprised, but impressed, Jimmy knew he had my support, and needless to say, we had several conversations after that.

There are many other examples and stories I remember at practices and games, or running into Jimmy at the store where his eyes always lit up, beaming with excitement to share what happened since we spoke the last time.

Jimmy, while you will be missed, your memory and legacy will continue to live on through the connections you made with everyone during your time spent with us. Thank you for being an inspiration and the example you set for all of us!

To Jimmy’s family – Words cannot express how saddened we are to hear of your loss of a loved one, but know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

With warm hugs, and all our love,
    Gerome and family.

  3. Our prayers are with you. God Bless Jimmy and your family

  4. I worked with him. He always made my day better. I’m glad I got to meet him. He always knew how to make people happy. I have bad anxiety and he could tell when no one else did. The warmth and comfort he provided was blissful. God gained another angel, goodbye Jimmy
