Obituary

McDonough, James Beauchamp, 84, native of Los Angeles, son of the late James Hanlon McDonough and Stephanie Beauchamp McDonough, born February 9, 1925, died March 19, 2009. He was a WWII veteran, a successful financial specialist, and a great boat and car enthusiast. He was always an optimist, proud of his family and his financial success and in his own words, ‘Your mama and I have no regrets and are grateful that we’ve lived long and full lives and have such wonderful children and grandchildren.’ Brother of the late Clarice and Joseph. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him especially his wife and partner, Ruth of over 60 years; brother, John; children, Monica Roger, Mary John, Mike Barbara, Nancy Joyce; grandchildren, Christy, Eric, Greg, Kelly, Jeff, Justin, Kyle, Kerry, Aisling, and Clare; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Chloe, Joshua, Gwen, Nathan; nieces and nephews, Dennis, Ronald, Laura, Denise, Suzie, Stephanie, Virginia, Rose, Paul, Lori; brother-in-law, Ben; and sisters-in-law, Mariel, Pat, Lucy who survived him. Memorial Service Monday March 30, 2009, 1:00 PM, O’Connor Mortuary Laguna Hills. Internment Tuesday March 31, 2009, 11AM, Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you plant a tree by yourself or with others.

    Jim was like a second father to me. Jim and Ruth opened their home and hearts to me and welcomed me into their family. Jim and I shared common interests; sports, cars, an occasional beer and advice on financial matters. I will always cherish our friendship and will miss him.
