Obituary
James “Jim” “Mac” McGraw III passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 in Newport Beach, CA. Jim was born on March 31, 1948 in Yazoo City, MS to the late Dicey Carr Barbour and James “Jimmy” McGraw II. Jim was the older brother to late Harris “Brother” McGraw.
Jim was a proud graduate of The University of Mississippi “Ole Miss” where he majored in Finance and was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Jim is survived by his beautiful wife Mary Conway McGraw of Newport Beach, CA, 4 daughters; Patricia “Tricia” McGraw Kelleher (husband Ryan) of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Dicey McGraw Perrine (husband Brett) of Laguna Hills, CA, Jamie McGraw of Newport Beach, CA and Anne McGraw of Nashville, TN; 3 grandchildren; Walton Perrine, Mary Perrine and Collins Kelleher.
His life revolved around his loving wife of 36 years, four beautiful daughters, and three grandchildren. Jim was an avid reader with a large book collection and always enjoyed watching his Ole Miss Rebels play each fall.
O’Connor Mortuary will be handling the arrangements. Services will be held at 11:00AM on April 27, 2022 at St Edward The Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, CA.

Mac was a very cordial and giving friend. We were 15 days apart in age. Growing up, my twin brother and I spent more time at Mac`s house than we did at our own house. We rode bicycles, played ball, and played Army. We would hide from the “enemy” in Mac`s grandparents` flower beds next door. In our senior year of high school, Mac was chosen vice-president of our class. I had some classes with Mac at Ole Miss, and he was always there with his gracious smile. I watched Dicey play volleyball for UCLA on television. She reminded me very much of Mac. Both could jump. Mac was an excellent basketball player. I too grew up with Mac with my twin brother , Wallace. We were all members of the Mcgrawville gang – no violence ! Mac was always a classy guy with good parents and a brother. About 10 years ago on Thanksgiving Day , I caught Mac and his beautiful wife and 4 daughters at his mother’s house on Grand Ave. here in Yazoo City, Ms. , Gateway to the Miss. Delta. Never have I seen such a beautiful and loving family. I will always miss Mac. I have already shared some childhood stories with my Yazoo City High School Class of 1966.Few knew his middle name was Alphonso or at least that was what he told me. He often called me DeFrance, my middle name.

Hello Mary,
My name is Ron Harris. Just found out on 8/1/22 that Mac has passed away.
Mac was a special friend to me! I have fond memories of the two of us cruising around in his white Mustang during our senior year in Yazoo City!
I last saw Mac in 1977 in New York when I came to accept an award, for a film I had produced, at the New York Film Festival. He was gracious enough to take me to see the stage play GREACE while there.
And during out senior year we we were sweet on the same girl but it never got between our friendship. With two other friends we went to see the Beatles perform in Memphis, TN in 1966.
I am a father to two girls and grandfather to three girls and a boy. I am sure Mac was a great father and grandfather!
