Obituary
Jacquelyn S. Carter, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, dedicated educator, counselor and friend. She passed away peacefully on the 11th of January 2025 at the age of 78.
Jackie was a cherished older sister to Patricia and devoted mother to Reginald and “adopted children” Steve and Kiele. She was also a proud and loving grandmother and great grandmother to her granddaughters, Dominique, Chelsea and Marla and great-granddaughters, Alyssa, Charliegh and Elena, and great-grandsons, Myles and Oakley, and a loving mother-in-law to Conny. As a sister and mother, Jackie was a source of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. Included in our family are Dean, Dexter, Diego and family. Shared blood doesn’t make you family, shared interests, care, understanding, and love do. Her caring nature, coupled with her dedication to family and community, supported and inspired us and will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In her professional life, Mrs. Carter made a significant impact as an educator, bringing patience and compassion to her role as she supported both students and teachers alike. She was also deeply committed to fostering diversity and understanding at Mission Viejo High School and later Laguna Hills High School as a counselor and mentor for the Multi-cultural Club, where her efforts to promote inclusivity and respect left a lasting impact on many young lives.
Jackie’s love, guidance, and commitment will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at O’Connor’s Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, in Laguna Hills 92653 on Wednesday the 29th of January 2025 at 9 o’clock and burial at 11 o’clock at the El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest,CA 92630.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mission Viejo HS https://www.mvhsptso.org/ or Laguna Hills HS https://www.lhhs-ptsa.org/fundraisers in honor of Jackie’s long commitment to education, and cultural diversity.

Dear Grandmommy,
I love you so much. You were an amazing woman. I chose this candle for you, for your love of music. I’ll always have you in my heart. I’ll always have you in spirit and memories. I can still hear your laugh, I can still see your smile when I close my eyes. Saying goodbye hurts, but I know you are in heaven with Grandaddy. You are now reunited with your love. Charleigh has two beautiful great-grandparents watching over her. May you rest in peace. 💜
