Obituary

Jack Howard Pike, 89, of Dana Point, CA died May 13th of a long illness.

He was born January 26, 1935 in Salem OH the son of John Howard Pike and Mabel (Cromwell) Pike.

He grew up in Hanoverton OH. He graduated from David Anderson/Lisbon High School in 1953 and settled and worked in the Salem area. He attended trade school and became a tool and die maker, eventually making his way to California around 1964. He was a Design Engineer for Hughes Aircraft Company, had his own patent, and had his own company Pike Machine Works. His hobbies were electronics, computers and genealogy.

He is survived by his companion Alyce Ceballos, Daughter Deborah (Leland) Paynter of Salem OH, Daughter-in-law Mary Jane Rylaarsdam of Dana Point, CA. Grandchildren Donald (Jen) Paynter, Bree Paynter (Darren) Ferrell, Jack (Rebecca) Pike III, William Pike, Thomas Pike and great-grandchildren William (Sarah) Paynter, Hannah (Cody) Maris, Alex Gonzalez, Ariana Gonzalez and great great grandchildren Liam Paynter and Waylon Paynter. His siblings, brother Robert (Elaine) Pike of Galena OH and sister Sandra (Dave Avery) Fitzpatrick of Centennial, CO. He was preceded in death by his son Jack Howard Pike Jr of Dana Point, CA and sister Patricia Pike of Littleton, CO.

Services will be held in California at O’Connor Mortuary (details in events tab)

Burial to take place at Woodsdale Cemetery at Guilford Lake in Lisbon, OH at a later time.
