Israel Lopez passed away on August 19, 2024, in Orange County, CA, at the age of 87. Born on February 9, 1937, in La Casita, Texas, Israel was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, five children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Israel proudly served in the Army for four years, demonstrating a commitment to his country and a patriotic spirit that continued throughout his life. After his military service, he was educated at Saddleback College, earning an associate's degree and established a successful career as a mechanic at SDG&E Company, where he worked for 20 years.

Israel was deeply committed to his faith and community as an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Veteran Dance Hall, and at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in Tucson, Arizona. As faithful member of Saint Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, his generosity extended to volunteering as a DJ for the 4th of July celebrations and various special events.

Israel's hobbies reflected his vibrant and engaged spirit. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, longboard surfing in his youth, and Motocross with his children. A lover of Judo, he not only practiced the sport, but also encouraged his children to participate. His passion for horticulture allowed him to nurture life in all its forms.

A vigil will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at O'Connor Mortuary in Laguna Niguel, CA. The funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor, followed by a graveside service at 2:15 pm at Miramar National Cemetery.
