Iraida Reyes Guzman

Iraida Reyes Guzman (Aida) was born on September 22, 1941 and passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 in Laguna Hills, CA.

Aida was born in the Philippines to Pio M. Reyes and Saturnina G. Reyes and was the last survivor of their six children; Isnardo, Herman, Lino, Federico, and Milburgo. She lived for many years in Twentynine Palms, CA, later moving to San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV before settling in Lake Forest, CA.

She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and completed one year of medical school before meeting her husband, Dr. Renato F. Guzman, and starting her family. She completed her training as a Medical Technologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. She later worked with kids at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Summerlin, NV.

Aida truly enjoyed life and lived her life to the fullest. She was constantly on the go, taking care of her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and a tireless host when relatives came for visits. Her endless hospitality extended to all friends that walked through the front door.

She was the life of the party, she loved to laugh and dance and sing. She loved ballroom dancing and won many awards in competitions. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, and working out at the gym. She loved food and had so many favorite restaurants. She was a devoted Catholic, living every day for the Lord. She drew strength from her faith to face her health challenges head on with unwavering positivity and hope.

Aida is survived by her former husband of 32 years, Dr. Renato F. Guzman, her five children and their (spouses/significant others); Patrick A. Guzman (Anavic), Maria C. Guzman, Joseph A. Guzman (Pamela), John M. Guzman (Lety), and Christine E. Denillo (Martin Frost), along with her nine grandchildren; Christopher (31), Torri Ann (30), Kayla (28), Nicholas (25), Benjamin (25), Joseph (21), Audrey (20), Ian (19), and Mathew (19). She also has one great grandchild; Stefan (3).
