Hugh graduated as Valedictorian at New Sharon High School in 1929 and later magna cum laude from Iowa State University in chemical engineering. Before moving to California in the 1980's, Hugh and his family resided in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gazella Mary Naffziger. Together they had nine loving children, William Naffziger of Tunstin, CA, Norma Finneran of Princeton Junction, NJ, Mary Naffziger of Laguna Woods, CA, Terry Naffziger of Yorba Linda, CA, June Graham of Irvine, CA, Jack Naffziger of Laguna Niguel, CA, Donald Naffziger of Oceanside, CA, Ken Shayna of Ann Arbor, MI. They have nineteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Hugh was preceded in death by Robert Naffziger.

Hugh was a bright, gentle, kind and loving gentleman who was dearly loved and who will be deeply missed by all.

A Vigil will be held Monday, January 15, 2007 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at O'Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 ~10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel.
