Hugh J. Gammon, 88, was born April 6, 1918 in Nanking, China where his parents were Presbyterian missionaries. He attended Occidental College where he lettered in swimming. Hugh went on to earn his Master's Degree from USC and then worked as a school principal in Tustin, CA for 30+ years. Hugh is survived by his daughter, Kathy Mohs; his son, Doug Gammon and three grandchildren. Hugh was named ?Man of the Year? by the Orange, CA YMCA where he was active in Y-Indian Guides as ?Bald Eagle.? ?Little Eagle? was his youngest son Richard, who was killed in a construction accident in 1973. Hugh attended Geneva Presbyterian Church and a Saddleback Church bible study. This last month he was under the care of Hospice of Saddleback Valley. Services for Hugh will be held Sat. 9/23 at 4:00 PM at Village Church of Irvine, 949 727-2000. Reception immediately following service.
