It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Hudson Edward Kurth, a former teacher and Distributive Education department head at Lakewood High School. Through his leadership, his students were repeat winners of DECA state awards, DECA California Chapter of the Year and 2nd place nationally.

In addition to teaching at the secondary and junior college levels, he was an active Beekeeper, producing honey for the United States Government who supplied honey to the military services. After retirement from education, his interests turned to a second career in the Real Estate Market where he earned a license as a Real Estate broker and mortgage broker, forming a company with his daughter Janice as Executive Home Loan, Inc. He also served on the Arrowhead Mutual Services board of directors.

Hudson is survived by his brother David Kurth and his 3 daughters: Debbie Kurth Kravits, Janice Kurth Amjadi and Dianne Kurth Curtin.

He left 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 9 nieces/nephews.
