Obituary

Hossein Meisami-Fard

It is with deep sorrow and greatest sadness that we announce the passing of Hossein (Bahram) Meisami-Fard, at the age of 67 on December 27, 2020 after a hard and complicated illness.  He is survived by his daughter, his sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, ex-spouse and friends who all deeply loved and adored him. He will be forever lovingly remembered for the purity and generosity of his heart and soul in every aspect of his life, his charismatic and adventurous nature, his quick wit and intellect, and his delicate sense of humor.  In mourning are the families Meisami-Fard, Nasiri, Farman, Moradi, Majidi, Hadian, Asoodeh, Kafai and Mohajer and all friends and family distant and wide.

Bahrum was born on September 20, 1953 to Zahra and Hadi Meisami-Fard in Tehran, Iran.  After graduating from Adeeb High School in 1971, he realized his dream of living in the United States when he immigrated to California at age 19.  He went on to study at Cerritos Junior College in Norwalk, California from 1973-1975 and then pursued Civil Engineering at the California State University of Los Angeles, graduating with his degree in 1979.

Hossein (Bahram) worked at the County of Orange as a Civil Structural Engineer from 1980-2004 and then his private engineering firm IDA engineering from 2004-2014 prior to retiring in 2018.  With over 33 years of leadership roles, he passionately developed his expertise and left his mark on the state of California through his structural and architectural design, land development, transportation engineering and programs; highway, hydraulic, residential, commercial and industrial design with a specialty in hillside and coastal areas.

He was passionate first and foremost about family, friends, nature, literature, and poetry. He aspired to the Sufi principles of simplicity, love and sincerity.  Over the 50 years he lived in California, he sponsored and was instrumental in immigration of all members of his family, starting with his parents, then siblings, nieces and nephews ensuring their safety, happiness and brighter future.

Rest in Peace Darvish.  We shall never stop feeling your indelible love.
