Helen Winter, 91

Helen Jean Winter of Laguna Niguel, California passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2017. Helen was born in Lamoure, North Dakota to Clarence and Bertha Finch on August 9th, 1925. She married Herbert Winter in Munich on August 6th, 1952 after which Herbert immigrated to the United States where they started a family.

Helen was a selfless and loving mother of five who devoted her life to her family. She was the absolute best mother a child could have, always there for her children through every joy and hardship of their lives. She was passionate about travel, music, and a good cup of coffee. She loved her flowering plants that she nurtured at home, and cherished the beauty of the great outdoors. Her generous and positive spirit was a gift to everyone she came in contact with. Although she may be physically gone, she truly lives on in our hearts.

Helen spent her professional career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Westminster Community Hospital in California.

Helen is survived by her son Gregory (Julie), daughter Sigrid, daughter Heidi (Bill), son John (Susan), and son Ronald (Barbara); thirteen grandchildren: Conrad, Christoph, Erika, Kirstin, Danielle, Kara, Erik, Leah, Sarah, Maura, Samuel, Anthony, and Oliver; and six great grandchildren: Ava, Alice, Jack, Soren, Karl, and Henrik. Her brother Phillip, also survives her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Thomas and Richard Finch.

Funeral services will be held at O'Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, California at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 13th.
