Obituary

Helen Vera DeSoto 

Helen Vera DeSoto passed away peacefully on December 30^th, 2021, at the age of 95. Helen was born in Phoenix, Arizona on September 5^th, 1926 to Geraldo and Maclovia Serrano. She was the second of five children. She met the love of her life Fred DeSoto from Los Angeles, they married in 1944 and Fred went off to the Army Air Force. They moved to California and onto a lifetime journey.

They had six children, Fred Jr., Veronica, Richard, Dorothy, Curtis and Craig.

Helen worked for Ford Aerospace in Newport Beach for over 20 years until they closed down.

Fred passed away much too early at age 74.

Helen stayed active working for the Saddleback school district part time and was very active doing things she enjoyed and volunteering with the City of Mission Viejo. But the most happiness she found was when she was with her family.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1998, son Curtis in 1985 and son Fred in 2018. She is survived by her daughter Veronica (son in law Don), son Richard, daughter Dorothy (son in law Charlie) and son Craig (daughter in law Lori), 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and sister Nellie and brother Tony. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen loved her family and was the matriarch of the family. She loved and cared for us all and she will always be remembered for her little smile and her dance she loved to do.

She will be missed but happy for her knowing she is with her family in heaven now.

Funeral graveside burial will be held at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, January 8^th, at 11:30 am.
