Helen David Stevenson. Died October 4, 2009 at age 91. She was born and raised on Long Island, NY where she graduated from Lynbrook H.S. and then from Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. She and her husband, Elbert H. Stevenson moved to Stratford, CT after WWII and resided in Stratford for 55 years. They moved to Dana Point, CA in 2001 to be near their daughter, Gail Guthrie and her family. Elbert died in 2002 and Gail passed away in April of this year. Helen was an avid gardener and belonged to the Stratford Garden Club where she received many awards for her horticulture specimens and arrangements. She loved to entertain. She was an active member of the Stratford Methodist Church for 50 years.

Helen is survived by her daughter's husband, Martin Guthrie; grandson, David Adina Guthrie and nephew, Richard Jean Lohr. A graveside service will be Thursday, October 9, 2009 at 11:00am at El Toro Memorial Park, Lake Forest, CA.
