Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Waters

April 19, 1928 – date.

After al long battle against Alzheimer’s Disease, Helen passed away peacefully on February 17, 2011 at home with her family by her side.

Through the years Helen had various employment experiences, but the most rewarding and successful was with her husband Bob, her co-partner in the business Waters Custom and Creative Picture Frame Shoppe, located in Danville, Illinois where they resided. Helen loved to be with people and wasn’t quite ready to retire so, after being a caregiver for her husband until his passing, she went to work for Target Stores. Upon retirement, and with much encouragement, Helen moved to Lake Forest to live with her daughter and grandchildren.

Helen enjoyed dancing and politics. She had a passion for painting and decorating. She dearly loved to visit with friends and family and enjoyed just having a good old conversation with any smiling face.

Helen will be deeply missed by her children Renee E. Wilson of Lake Forest, CA; Robert A. Waters and Cynthia E. Tolley James of Illinois; grandchildren Sean, Blair Rachel and Alison Wilson Brian & great grandchild on the way of Lake Forest, CA; Matthew serving in Afghanistan Nicole, and Meghan Kramp of Indiana; Misty and Lydia Clifton of Illinois and many loving friends.

  1. I remember the first time I met Helen at a family gathering. She was sitting quietly, and seemed a bit serious. I decided to introduce myself and she graciously shook my hand and we began a conversation that was as interesting, humorous and informative as I’d ever had. You see, we started talking about sports and to my pleasant surprise, Helen knew as much about sports and players as any sports buff I’d ever talked with. Eventually, I learned that Helen was very well versed on a wide range of interesting topics. I’ll always remember Helen as a classy lady with a sunny disposition and a kind word for everyone. She will surely be missed by me and the Gonzales family. My heartfelt condolences to Renee and family.
