Obituary

Helen Margaret Annett, 89, of Lake Forest, CA peacefully passed away on March 5, 2016 in Westminster CA. Born December 13, 1926 in Oil City, PA, daughter to Norton and Mabel McCrea Kellogg.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Melvin Eugene Annett of Lake Forest, CA; by her two daughters Susan Pawlowski of Orange, CA and Barbara Blaylock (Steve) of Chandler, AZ, and by her son Richard Annett (Diana) of Mission Viejo CA. Helen’s special joy has been her 7 grandchildren Holly (Rob), Colleen (John), Karen (Carlo), Laura (Mike), Richard (Kayleigh), Brent (Mary), Brian (Brooke), and her 9 great grandchildren.

Helen Annett graduated from Cranberry High School in 1944 where she enjoyed singing and first dated the love of her life, Mel. Helen and her family moved from Bristol, PA in 1964 to her family home of 52 years in El Toro, CA.

Helen loved to watch the Lakers, loved the flowers in the garden, and as a founding member of the Shepherd of the Hills UMC, loved her church. Her hobbies included making over 100 ornaments and various candies at Christmas for family and friends. After retirement she loved to travel the country in their 5th wheel. The favorite destination was Alaska which they visited 6 times.

Helen will be remembered for her devotion to family, and a smile that would spread to everyone she met.

Celebration of Helen’s life will be conducted at Shepherd of the Hills UMC, Mission Viejo CA on Sunday March 20th at 2:00PM.
