Obituary

Harriett Elizabeth Pernet McFedters born July 23, 1907 in Odell, Illinois died on November 19, 2004 in Mission Viejo, Ca.
Harriett lived a long and happy life. She was born to Joseph Clark Pernet and Blanche Isabel Gutel. She had two younger sisters that preceeded her in death. Though she lost her mother at age 11, she had a stablic childhood and loving relatives to raise her. She was very close to her father ‘Pa’ and her sister Helen. She married Quinn McFedters in 1930 and had two daughters, Susan and Shirley. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed working a few years as a school secretary. Her highest priority however was her family. She was a treasure to them and her influence will be felt for many years. She will be greatly missed.

Great Grandma was a little woman with a big personality and a huge heart, I know she will always have a place in mine. Through her long life she saw many changes in the world but she always kept her since of humor. I will miss her. I love you Great Grandma!

I love you Great Grandma! Thank you for everything. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face even when you didn’t mean to. I love you! Love, Kelsey

I remember visiting her last summer, she wasn’t feeling well and Susan was having to force her to eat. She brought Great-Grandma dinner but she only picked at it until Susan left the room. As soon as she was gone Great-Grandma devoured a whole jar of jelly beans claiming that there was “always room for something sweet”.

It seems only a short time ago that I was in your living room playing tittly-winks and pick-up sticks. Then and now I see your sweet smile, I feel your love for people and know that you kindly touched more lives than you probably realized. You will be missed, but always with a smile on my face. Love, Gregg

  5. Dear Susan, We were so sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. We send our prayers and love to you and your family. God bless, Karen and Skip
