Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Queen, Gloria Pulinario, who peacefully departed this world on February 1, 2025, at 7:17 PM, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. She was 82 years young—a life beautifully lived, a soul deeply cherished.
Born on December 15, 1942, in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, Gloria’s journey was one of resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to family. She first made a home in Long Island, New York, where she became a pillar of the community—known as everyone’s mother, a source of strength, and a guiding light. Later, she found her true haven in Rancho Mission Viejo, California, where her kindness, wisdom, and grace left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Francisco Pulinario, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, devotion, and an unbreakable bond. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished daughters: Enora De La Cruz, Damaris Reyes, Raquel Pulinario, Ruth Perez, Luzmaria Pulinario, and Sandra Peguero Guzman, as well as her beloved adopted daughter, Elizabeth Morrison. She is also reunited in heaven with her sweet son, Frankie Mateo, who left this earth at just two years old but forever remained in her heart.
Her love shines on through her adoring grandchildren: Jonathan, Victoria, Jacob, Dannyela, Fernando, Brandan, D’Angelo, Adryana, Ethan, Nathaniel, Raheem, Jordyn, Davonny, Taylor, Jovan, Alisandra, Tommy, and Talissa, and her great-grandchildren: Kaylynn, Lana, Catherine, Crew, Julius, Kamari, Zyaire, Jasper, and “to be continued.”
Gloria was more than just a mother to her own children—she was a second mother to everyone who crossed her path, offering wisdom, warmth, and an open heart to those in need. Her home was a sanctuary, her presence a source of comfort, and her love a guiding force for so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.
She will be laid to rest at Mission San Luis Rey, 4050 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92057, where a graveside ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 6, at 11:00 AM.
Gloria Pulinario’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her spirit, lessons, and love will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come. Though she is no longer physically here, her presence will always be felt in the warmth of a shared meal, the echoes of laughter, and the strength of the family she built.
“We love you, baby.”

I feel immense sadness at this moment which is a testament to how grand you were in this life. Yet, I cannot fully say goodbye as you’ll always be alive in my spirit.
If I close my eyes I can still see you walking into Mari’s house making your rounds to kiss and hug us all. Our morning chats were always my favorite, filled with advice and recipe sharing and stories of living in Long Island. How blessed I am to have known you and called you friend. I admire you for being so strong in this life, moving forward and accomplishing whatever was in your heart. Your family is a beautiful extension of you, always providing support and ensuring you were happy.
Thank you for loving me with a pure heart. I loved you in the same way. Promise you’ll visit me in my dreams. We can make mofongo again.
Paz a tu alma bella. Te amo, mi Gloria Trevi.
