  1. I first met dear Gloria in Bible Study Fellowship in the mid-eighties. Being that we lived in the same neighborhood, we were able to ride to Laguna together each Wednesday. This lovely red-haired woman was one of the leaders, welcoming the ladies into the sanctuary with her beautiful warm smile and hugs. After BSF I was invited to join the Joy of Living Bible Study in Capistrano Beach where I met Sharon, Gloria’s precious daughter. What a blessing to continue on in study with these two gracious ladies. Gloria was the chief dispenser of hugs and cheer for so many years at Joy. She made everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

She loved the ocean, seashells, and butterflies, but most of all she loved her family and friends. They were precious to her. I don’t think that Gloria ever met anyone that she didn’t immediately love. One of her favorite words in describing someone was “precious.”

Gloria always had her lesson finished and ready to share when she came to Bible study. She had a great memory and was committed to hiding God’s Word in her heart. She used these verses to encourage us.

Two of her favorites were Hebrew 11:1 and 6: “1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

Her Bible study friends will tell you that she was a great teacher, not just with words, but by the example of the way she lived her life. We will never forget her “teacher eyes” when we off track.

It was my great privilege and honor to call her friend. It is lessens the sadness I feel on her passing to know that she is seeing Jesus face to face now and that I will see her again when it’s my turn.

    I love you sweet Gloria!

  2. Dear Sharon, Vic, Mark, and Cindy and Christy,
You had a wonderful Mom and Grandmother, who will surely be missed. Everyone loved her beauty and grace in her everyday life. Now, after the suffering she went thru, she is at peace…..Our deepest condolences to the family of this precious lady.

    Love, Jon and Jackie

  3. Dear Sharon,
It is a “Joy” to know you and a blessing to work with you serving the Lord through Joy of Living Bible Studies! I had the privilege of meeting Gloria when we visited your Joy of Living class just a year ago. Gloria had recently undergone facial surgery for cancer, yet she was so sweet, beautiful, and gracious in spite of it all. I could see where your own beautiful smile came from! Having experienced the loss off both my parents, even knowing that they are with the Lord and that we will someday be reunited, I know that you will miss Gloria so much every day. My prayers are with you, dear Sharon, and with all your family.
    Love in Christ,

  4. Dearest Sharon
After knowing you for many years, I finally met your mother. Such a lovely lady! Her trust in the Lord and the peace she had through these last months is quite a testimony of God’s grace in her life. I know she will be missed by all those whose life she has touched. I am praying for each of you.
    Much love,
    Nancy

  5. Many fond memories of Gloria. She was always such a gracious hostess at her home during our get togethers. It has been some time since we saw one another. We will look forward to our next visit as a group with our Lord God. Ted we are praying for you and the family.

    God Bless with much Love
