Obituary

Glenn Elliott Walker, age 83, of Hendersonville, TN passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Mission Viejo, CA.

Glenn was born August 2, 1941 in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada to the late Hugh Everett Walker and Annie Mae Walker (nee’ MacDougall). He was the second of five brothers (Conrad, Everett, Gary, and Carmen) and he grew up excelling in academics. Glenn’s family moved to Southern California in 1959, and he soon thereafter met Janet. Glenn and Janet married on July 6, 1963 and had two sons and a daughter. He attended Cal State University Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics. As a young professional, he worked at Xerox, Raytheon, and Hughes, and later in life, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to owning and running several businesses. In 2009, Glenn and Janet retired and moved to Hendersonville, TN to be near two of his brothers.

Glenn was an inherent optimist who enjoyed the many blessings of life. He was an enthusiastic life-long learner who was knowledgeable about many different topics of interest. Technology, physics, traveling, music, the arts, health, and recipes for delicious foods were just a few of his passions. Everything was of interest to him and he enjoyed sharing new discoveries with friends and family. Staying healthy was important to him and he made sure to be at the gym each day at daybreak to exercise. Then, he would enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with his circle of friends before going home. He also had a love of travel and he and Janet visited Paris for their 50th anniversary, along with many other destinations over their years together. Glenn also loved animals and always shared his home with many dogs over the years. He had a fondness for his Scottish heritage and an appreciation for music and he could often be found happily humming or singing a tune.

Glenn leaves behind his loving wife, Janet of 61 years and his three children Michael (Rebecca), Michele, and Jeff (Jessamine). He was very proud of his five grandchildren – Brenna, Clay, Elise, Carmen, and Jack. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Estalita), and many nieces and nephews.

Glenn will be dearly missed but his memory will be fondly cherished by all who knew him and loved him.

Glenn’s funeral mass will be at 11:00am on February 11, 2025 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 29012 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. A brief reception with a light lunch will follow in the parish hall. Glenn will be interned at 1:30pm on the same day at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery at 7845 Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869.
