Obituary

Gilberto Cervantes Hurtado, passed away May 21, 2014. Gilberto was born on February 26, 1929 in Chucandiro, Michoacan, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States in 1958 and resided in Santa Ana, California with his wife, Maria Eudave Hurtado and son, Gil Hurtado, for the majority of his adult life. After retiring from UCI medical Center as part of the custodial staff and Jonathan Manufacturing Corporation as a member of the assembly line, Gilberto lead a quiet, simple life with friends and family. Gilberto will be remembered as a kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or anyone in need. He was often known to stop by for quick visit and always in his hand, a bag filled with freshly baked Mexican Sweet Bread to perfectly pair with a cup of coffee. His kindness, smile, and firm handshake will be missed by his immediate and extended family members and friends. Gilberto is survived by brothers Efrain and Salvador Hurtado, sisters Imelda, Belen, Balvina, Celia and Amparo Hurtado, and grandsons Alex Sebastian and Matthew David Hurtado. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Maria Eudave Hurtado and his son, Gil Hurtado.
