January 8, 1941 – October 11, 2025
Giao Ma, 87, of Laguna Niguel, CA, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Born in Vietnam, Giao served as a pharmacist in the South Vietnamese army during the war. In 1980, he courageously immigrated to the United States with his family, seeking a better life.
After arriving in America, Giao returned to school to earn his pharmacist license and dedicated over 20 years to serving others at the VA, later working in the California prison system until his retirement in 2012.
Giao was known for his resilience, creativity, and fierce independence. He had a passion for fishing and took great joy in spending time with his family. His strength, wisdom, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son Giang Ma, grandchildren Kaitlyn and Jacob, and brothers Long Ma, Viet Ma, Hoa Ma, Chau Ma, Thong Ma and Minh Ma. He was preceded in death by his ancestors and family members who came before him.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
