Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gianfranco Marin, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on July 17, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on July 4th, 1937, in Libya, Gianfranco lived a life distinguished by his unwavering kindness, humility, and an uncanny ability to forge friendships wherever he went.

Gianfranco was a dedicated non-domestic water specialist, known for his tireless work in the water utility industry. He emigrated from Italy to the United States at the age of 40, driven by a profound desire to provide a better future for his beloved family. Despite facing the challenges of a new language and culture, his relentless work ethic ensured that he always cared for his wife, Maria, and their children, Marco, Fabio and Tiziana. He and Maria shared a beautiful marriage for 66 years, a testament to their unyielding love and support for one another.

Inspired by his love for the simple joys in life, Gianfranco found peace in spending time with his large family, fishing, singing, and taking care of his pet birds, often bringing smiles not only to his family but to all who knew him. He was a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Gianfranco is survived by his loving wife, Maria, his children Fabio and Tiziana, and his cherished grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella. He leaves behind his brother, Gigi Marin, family and friends who were touched by his generous spirit.

He is preceded in death by Roberto and Maria Marin (Mother and Father), Marco Marin (Son), Leonardo Marin, Carlo Marin, Renzo Marin (Brothers), Margherita LaHue, Carolina Belzano (Sisters), and Robert Reisinger (Nephew).

In remembrance of his extraordinary life, we invite family and friends to honor Gianfranco with a Memorial Ceremony July 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at O'Connor Mortuary, where we will reflect upon the love and memories he leaves behind.

Gianfranco Marin will forever be remembered as a man of integrity, warmth, and generosity. His legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
